Eco-friendly Alternatives To Plastic Shower Curtains
With the wake of the “green” movement many home owners have embraced this concept and even gone as far as making their homes greener. It goes without saying then that shower curtains even your awesome mickey mouse shower hooks, especially the plastic types, can be changed as well. Take a few minutes to read about some of the recommendations you can consider.
One thing I hate about plastic shower curtains is that they emit bad odour. This is especially true when they are new. Let us delve right into our topic for the day.
If you live in a dry climatic area then consider buying Hemp shower curtains. My reason for saying only those living in drier areas should consider this is because it takes a longer time to dry.
Due to the amount of time it takes for it to dry up, it is possible for it to start developing some mold and may require regular washing. The more it is washed the quicker it wears out so you need to realize the opportunity cost here . Check your local store or buy online for about $90.
You can also avoid buying any kind of a plastic curtain and go for fabric. Make sure the one you buy dries up quickly and can be washed using a washing machine. My best pick is nylon but you can try out other options. You can buy yourself a nice fabric at $20, which comes with a very tight weave and repels water perfectly fine. I prefer this one from Hemp because it is capable of drying faster and repels mold growth better. There are several options to choose from in terms of color and more like black and white traditional paisley fabric shower curtains or simply find amazon shower curtain of your choice. While you are making your choices just make sure that it still enhances the look and feel of your bathroom.
I said I hate plastic, yes, but I will not withhold the truth and not tell you that there are a few green curtains that you can buy – if you must stick with plastic.
